We are a union of cooperative societies committed to the practice of responsible, supportive, fair and conscious tourism through the dissemination, marketing, governance and strengthening of organizations dedicated to community-based tourism in Yucatan. We took two Co’ox Mayab tours and they were both great. Each tour segment is very well thought out, so that it’s like taking several tours in one day. We did the Maya of Today/Yesterday and the Flavours of Honey and Coconut. When your tour includes eating grapefruit and oranges that were just picked from the tree, or special stops for coconut candies, you know it’s good! The beach segment of the Honey/Coconut tour didn’t work out because of the smelly seaweed, but our tour guide Jan made up for it with a beautiful drive home along the coast, complete with spectacular sunset. The important thing about these tours is that they are connected with the communities you visit, so that benefits go back to the communities. But aside from that, they’re just fun and we hope to do more next time we’re in Merida. Highlights of both tours were the bee experiences, and the small-scale nature of the activities (especially the guayabera workshop) was fascinating. Highly recommended!
Our visit to Tekit with Co’ox Mayab was fabulous! Our guide Jan and everyone we interacted with in town were very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about local history, culture and the environment. Everything ran very smoothly day of and in setting up the tour; Gloria in the main office was extremely responsive as we were making arrangements. We loved every part of the day and found it to be the perfect combination of activities!! The farm was absolutely beautiful, and our visit to the solar Maya at Ana’s house was fascinating — the beekeeping and honey tasting was a real highlight for us, and Ana, Manuel and Luis’ passion was infectious! The guayabera workshop was also very interesting and gave us new appreciation for this tradition. Our visit to Mayapan was short but beautiful during sunset and to top it all off, we saw an incredibly colorful motmot bird. All in all one of the best day tours I’ve ever taken – highly recommended!
I came back a few days ago from a 10 days trip in Yucatán organised with Co’ox Mayab. We came in the frame of a university trip and the team just wonderfully handled everything. First of all, we were a big group and were never penalized by it. They managed to organise sub group activities and we always had time and space to enjoy our time in Mexico. They took us through ecological and responsible places were to enjoy one of the 7 wonders of the world, the cenotes, Mayan villages, an extraordinary paradisiac beach, etc. Every single moment, they guided us with good humor, their heart, passion and the knowledge of the best places to see around. As we were in a university expedition, they were also able to take us through very inspiring company visiting and university conferences. Whatever you want to see in Yucatán, Co’ox Maya will make it even better and more human than expected. It would be a pity to miss their team, talent and huge heart if you travel to Yucatán.

I participated in a excursion with you through my university. It’s impossible to describe how thankful I am for showing the variaty of landscapes (cenotes, fauna and flora, beaches), the beauty of acient Mayan cities and most of all the amazing hospitality of Mayas. Staying over for a night in a Maya village is an unforgettable experience. Thank you!
My family and I took a trip with Co’ox Mayab recently. We live in Mérida and know the region well but this was still eye opening and we will remember the experience forever. My kids had the time of their lives and we all loved meeting such kind and lovely people.
